Old Friends, New Adventures part 1

We had an exciting week that started with back to back adventures with some of my old friends.  (Not that we are old, but that we've been friends for a long time.)  Cindy Crosby and her family moved recently to Lancaster, CA, near Edward's Air Force Base.  With no traffic, they are just over an hour away.  We've been out to the new house for a pool party after their son Cael's baptism.  They've been here to the beach with us.  And on Monday, we met them at the California Science Center for an adventure.  We played in the morning and ate lunch outside.  Zoey raced around the Rose Garden before we boarded the Expo line home.  (The girls were very excited about the Expo line, which took about a half hour, but was a steal compared to what we would have paid in parking.)  Here was the parting hug for Maren.

It was Maren's 5th birthday, and the Crosby's wanted to make a day of it in LA, avoiding traffic going home.  So, in the late afternoon, they came over and we had dinner and birthday cake.  We all went for a lovely stroll up to the temple visitor's center.

I have such good memories of tramping around Vienna with Cindy, and being German house neighbors at BYU.  She's good for my soul, and I LOVE that they live so close now.  Until this month, we hadn't seen each other since she came from Okinawa for our wedding.  I hadn't seen her hubby, Chase for 10 years.  Thrilled we'll be getting to see them more.
