I would much rather celebrate the New Year like I did as a missionary in Korea than as most Americans do. We'd wake up January 1st before dawn, hike to the top of the nearest hill/mountain and watch the first sunrise of the year.
In that spirit, when Mikele and her boyfriend Josh came to see us on the 1st of January, we took them to the Los Angeles foothills and hiked to see the Hollywood sign up close. So fun!

Don't they look like movie stars that belong in Hollywood? Josh and Mikele were good sports with Zoey, who complained A LOT about walking. She may have spent as much time in the stroller as Paige.

And while we weren't on the hill for the first sunrise of the year, we did catch the start of the first sunset of 2013!
