Anyone who has met Zoey in person knows that she is usually and happy, smiley kid. She has delicious dimples and such gorgeous eyelashes framing her blue eyes that a full smile will stop you in your tracks and melt your heart. Capturing this expression on camera, however, is proving to be very difficult.Friday we met fabulous aunt Jill at the Grove to take some pictures of Zoey. I've been wanting one year old portraits. All dressed up and looking cute as a button, as soon as she realized what we were doing, the grumpies came out to play. No smiles. No adventure even. Just a kiddo clinging to her mommy. She did warm up eventually, but by that time the camera was tucked away of course. (While there weren't any smiling pictures, there might have been one or two other shots we'll like and I'll post those.)
Zoey will only rarely smile for us when the camera is out. Not even a smile for Grandpa Paul and Grandma Jeanne a few weeks ago.
Instead, she makes all sorts of other faces for the camera, like the tongue out:

She loved crawling in the cupboard at the hotel in Utah. Super cute picture, but I want some smiles......please????

Smiles are great but I personally like the tongue out look :) She is such a doll!
