"Yeah! A Museum!"

Having worked for six years at The Association for Art Museum Directors, and being on board with how great museums can be, I was thrilled with Zoey's enthusiasm at our recent visit to the Getty Villa.  When the elevator doors opened from the parking garage to the pathway to the museum, Zoey jumped out and shouted, "Yeah!  A museum!"  She galloped her way around the place.

It was the perfect Southern California day for the museum, which overlooks Malibu.  Loved the views of the ocean and the gardens outside.

We were lucky to have some wonderful museum companions.  Papa and Grandma came along, as did Melanie, a dear friend from NYC.
Zoey and Melanie hit it off well.  We were so happy that she came to stay the night with us and made time on her trip to So. Cal to see us.  She's good people that Pinky McG!!!

The kids area in the museum was great!  Zoey liked the screen that projected images like on ancient pottery.  There were also tables to do red and black relief stencils.  Pots of all shapes and sizes had a special veneer so people could draw with wipe erase markers on them.

I didn't get to see a ton of art.  What I saw was lovely.  The building itself and the view are marvelous.  I especially loved the room that was done in very vibrant red and green marble.
